I grew up in Serbia, country of humor and absurd, where everyone is playing football, but we are best in waterpoolo, where people love music, but no one is listening to the musical performers.
There is a lot of talent in this place, but the environment is far from an inspiring place for the jazz musician. Especially not for the jazz pianist, because even if there is a place where we could play, there are no acoustic pianos, so being a jazz pianist in Belgrade, is something like playing badminton in India. We decided to try to change that. To bring our music to the concert halls and play it in front of the focused audience.
Two years ago, I was just about to leave. Jazz Music faced serious crises in Belgrade. None of the clubs had an acoustic piano. Which was the defeating fact for me. Finaly meeting these guys, pushed these problems to the side, and made me focus just on music, and try to make best out of what I have.
